Robinhood's Arbitrum-built layer 2 went public on July 1 with tokenized stocks, USDG, Uniswap and Morpho on day one. US customers get Robinhood Earn and perps, not stock tokens.
Robinhood Chain, the company's dedicated Arbitrum chain settling to Ethereum, opened its public mainnet on July 1 after a testnet that processed more than 200 million transactions. Chain id is 4663, gas is paid in ETH, blocks land about every 100 milliseconds, and the sequencer orders transactions first come, first served with no priority fees.
What shipped on day one
- Stock Tokens. Tokenized US stocks and ETFs, issued as debt securities by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited, tradable 24/7 through Robinhood Wallet and decentralized exchanges in more than 120 countries. They are not available in the United States, Canada, the UK, Switzerland or the UAE.
- USDG. Paxos's Global Dollar is the settlement stablecoin.
- DeFi partners. Uniswap (v2, v3, v4 and UniswapX) as the primary public liquidity venue, Morpho for lending, Chainlink for price feeds, LayerZero for bridging, Alchemy and BitGo for infrastructure, Lighter for perpetuals.
- Robinhood Earn. Eligible US customers can lend USDG through Morpho at an estimated 7% APY, insured through Lloyd's of London and RELM.
- Lighter points. Trading perps through Robinhood Wallet earns 2x Lighter points against a pool of 11 million LIT tokens.
What US users can and cannot do
The chain itself is permissionless, and US customers can use Robinhood Wallet and third-party apps on it. The stock-token restriction is enforced at the app and issuer level, not in the token contracts, which are plain ERC-20s with an ERC-8056 multiplier for corporate actions.
Why it matters
Robinhood put a regulated broker's distribution behind a public chain, and the assets it cares about most are the ones its home market cannot touch. That tension, stock tokens abroad and memecoins everywhere, is the story of the chain's first two months.
